Two game changing impacts are rocking the 21st century economy. First is the shift from an economy of scarcity to an economy of abundance. Second is the move from an economy of ownership to an economy of access. Companies such as AirBnB have disrupted the hotel business. Über, BlaBlaCar and Zipcar have all shaken up the car industry. This session explores how companies facing the threat of the Sharing Economy should re-think their HR strategies for survival and success. In particular, the way companies find, develop and promote talent should reflect this fundamental shift in economic structure – with an emphasis on new competencies in their staff such as entrepreneurial mindset and capacity.
